National Capacity Building on Trade in Services Statistics – UGANDA
July 14 @ 8:00 am - July 18 @ 5:00 pm
The National Capacity Building on Trade in Services Statistics in Uganda is a focused program designed to strengthen Uganda’s ability to accurately collect, analyze, and utilize data on trade in services, which accounted for about 11.86% of GDP in 2023. This initiative supports Uganda’s trade policy goals of enhancing regional integration within the East African Community and improving the competitiveness of its service sectors by providing government agencies and statistical institutions with the necessary skills and tools. By improving the quality and availability of trade in services statistics, the program aims to inform better policy-making, address trade barriers, and promote sustainable economic growth, especially given Uganda’s significant trade activities in services alongside its goods trade deficit.
