Peer to Peer Learning Conference.

The EU-EAC CORE Programme  annually hosts two-day Regional Peer-to-Peer Learning Conferences under the public-private dialogue (PPD) approach. Peer to Peer Learning is a key tool and valuable approach where we can generate and disseminate knowledge and foster learning on various topics such as reform processes for sector development.

Developing an Online Mechanism for the Removal of Restrictions on Trade in Services in the EAC

The East African Community (EAC), through the EU-EAC CORE Programme, is making significant strides toward deeper regional integration by initiating the development of an online mechanism to monitor and facilitate the removal of restrictions on Trade in Services (TiS). This digital tool will serve as a central platform to address institutional, administrative, and regulatory barriers that hinder the free movement of services across EAC Partner States.

At its core, the mechanism is designed to support the effective and systematic removal of restrictions on trade in services. It will offer a real-time and user-friendly interface that enables stakeholders to engage directly with the liberalisation process. This includes reporting encountered restrictions, submitting relevant data, accessing updated information on national and regional regulations, and receiving feedback on progress. Such interactivity will promote transparency and accountability while ensuring efforts to liberalise the services sectors are data-driven and inclusive.
